News Bulletin Number 4 June 2021
June is decision month.
At last, we have arrived at the point when the Church will be asked to make decisions. Do we accept our Mission Statement, do we approve the architect’s plans, and are we committed to work together to make it all happen?
June 26th at 2.00pm you are invited to view the plans and enjoy a bar-b-que at 2.30pm. We will be there to answer your questions and listen to your comments. We suggest a minimum donation of £5.00 to cover our catering costs. This takes place at the Church, inside space will be available if the weather is poor. Please note that on 26th and 27th the then current Covid advice will apply.
June 27th at 10.30am morning worship led by Rev Kim. This takes the form of our Covenant Service (an opportunity to rededicate ourselves towards God’s will for us in our community). The service will be followed by a ‘bring your own’ packed lunch, an opportunity to get together following the restrictions of Covid. Following lunch, we move to a general Church Meeting at which we will be asked to vote to accept our Mission Statement, the architect’s plans and our commitment to the project.
From the beginning of June, we begin our Gift day. Envelopes are available for your gifts, please declare your willingness to Gift Aid which increases your gift by refunding tax paid to the Church. We are making plans for ‘Online Giving’ and details will be available. Please remember, that we need to raise as much as possible. We cannot apply for grants unless we demonstrate our commitment through generous giving.
We have been searching for a way forward for our congregation and building for a long time, now is the time to make a decision and move forward, please give this your wholehearted support.
Please keep our project in your prayers and, if you have any comments or queries, please give our project facilitator a call, Mike will happily do his best to assist.
With love to you all,
The Stewards and Leadership Team, Raunds Methodist Church.
